Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: 16 August 2026

This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to services provided by Julia Taragano, trading as Institutional Fluency.

Cancellation, rescheduling and refund arrangements vary depending on the service booked. Please review the applicable conditions below before completing a booking.

LIVE MASTERCLASSES

Masterclass places are confirmed upon full payment at the time of booking.

Participant Cancellations

If you are unable to attend a booked masterclass, please contact hello@institutionalfluency.com as soon as possible.

Cancellations

At least 7 days before the scheduled masterclass: You may request either:

  • a transfer to another available masterclass date; or

  • a refund of the amount paid.

Less than 7 days before the scheduled masterclass: A refund will not be provided. Your booking may instead be transferred to another available masterclass date.

No-shows: If you do not attend a booked masterclass without providing notice, the booking is considered used and no refund or transfer will be provided.

These conditions apply to change-of-mind cancellations and do not limit any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Cancellation or Rescheduling by Institutional Fluency

Institutional Fluency may occasionally need to reschedule or cancel a masterclass due to illness, insufficient registrations, technical issues or other circumstances that reasonably prevent delivery.

If a masterclass is rescheduled, you may choose to attend the rescheduled session or request a refund if the new date is not suitable.

If Institutional Fluency cancels a masterclass and does not offer a suitable rescheduled session, you will receive a refund of the amount paid.

WORKSHOPS

Workshop and organisational bookings are confirmed upon payment of the agreed deposit.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, a 50% deposit is required to confirm the booking, with the remaining balance payable in accordance with the invoice or agreed payment terms.

Client Cancellation or Rescheduling

Please provide written notice of any cancellation or request to reschedule as early as possible.

Rescheduling: If an organisation needs to reschedule a confirmed workshop, the booking may be moved to another mutually agreed date, subject to availability. Any non-refundable costs already incurred as a result of the change may be payable by the client.

Cancellations
14 days' notice or more:
Amounts paid, including the deposit, will be refunded, less any non-refundable costs already incurred specifically for the booking.

Less than 14 days' notice: The deposit will be retained. Any non-refundable third-party costs already incurred specifically for the booking, such as venue, travel or accommodation expenses, may also be payable by the client where those costs cannot reasonably be recovered.

Specific cancellation or rescheduling terms included in an accepted proposal, quote, invoice or written agreement will take precedence over these general conditions where there is an inconsistency.

Cancellation or Rescheduling by Institutional Fluency

If Institutional Fluency needs to reschedule a workshop, reasonable efforts will be made to agree on a suitable alternative date with the client.

If Institutional Fluency cancels a workshop and a suitable alternative cannot be agreed, amounts paid for services that will not be provided will be refunded, including the deposit where applicable.

COMMUNITY SESSIONS

Cancellation, payment and rescheduling arrangements for community and not-for-profit sessions will be confirmed as part of the relevant proposal or booking arrangement.

Where no specific terms have been agreed, Institutional Fluency will work reasonably with the organisation to reschedule where circumstances require a change.

Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in this Refund & Cancellation Policy excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy available under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.

Where a service does not meet an applicable consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to a remedy such as having the service provided again, a refund or other remedy depending on the circumstances and the nature of the failure.
